Since Drara was formed we have hosted a number of very successful social events bringing neighbours together and reclaiming community space. These have included street parties in Shaftesbury Place and Ditchling Rise, the celebration of the railway line’s 150th anniversary and AGMs (with cake of course) held in the historic waiting rooms of London Road Station.
We often hold pot luck suppers, hosted by people in the

community, where all neighbours are welcome to come and share food, meet neighbours and find out what’s going on the area than you’ll ever learn on Google. Over 20 neighbours popped in with food to share a recent Christmas get-together – enjoying soup, tortilla, beetroot roulade, warming curry, crisps, mince pies, mulled wine and entertaining company. Pot-luck suppers are usually on a Friday evening at 7.30 on and its a great way to relax, share yummy food and start the weekend – contact us ditchlingrisebrighton@gmail.com to find out dates.
