Area meetings/events

Ditchling Rise Area Residents Association – Drara
Meetings of Drara are currently held in the neighbourhood usually bimonthly – all neighbours are welcome.

We also hold regular social gatherings –  pot luck suppers are a chance to get to know neighbours over home cooked goodies and catch up on news.

Do get in touch with us via our email if you’d like to know more. We try to post dates of forthcoming meetings and activities posted on our homepage.

London Road Station Partnership
The London Road Station Partnership is a community gardening  group who have transformed once neglected patches around the station into a productive food growing area and colourful shady garden. The group also maintain local planters outside the pub.The gardeners meet on Tuesday afternoons during the gardening season and welcome help.

Neighbouring Areas

London Road

London Road is our local high street, which over 2013 – 2015 has transformed from an area of empty shop fronts with a poor reputation to a buzzing road filled with cafes, an increasing number of restaurants – even hipsters and the odd hen party have been sighted there! The London Road Area ActionTeam (LAT) are playing a large part in this rejuvenation. This is a voluntary community group  formed in 2008. The LAT brings together traders and residents, ward Councillors, the neighbourhood policing team, council officers, and representatives of local residents’ and traders’ groups usually on the first Tuesday of each month. The group works for agreed goals in partnership, providing a forum for views to be aired and debated. The London Road LAT also provides regular updates on what’s occurring in the area on Twitter @LondonRoadLAT

Southdown Rise

The Southdown Area Rise Residents Group covers the neighbourhood to the north of London Road Station. You can find out about events and meetings up north on their blog.

The Roundhill Area is to the east of Ditchling Road, occupying the hilly bits between Upper Lewes Road and Ditchling Road. Find out more about community activity here on the Roundhill website.
